Foreman: Wendell Wehrum

The Work Order Crew was established in the middle of 2004.  This is a two-man crew with extensive use of part-time help and summer help.  The purpose of this crew was to establish a group that could handle the day-to-day complaints that come into the highway department.  This averages 5 to 7 calls per day.  The formation of this crew enabled the other crews to perform their primary function without being disturbed on a daily basis.  This has worked out well with tremendous results in productivity.  This crew works year round with the A-boom crew providing flagging and additional trimming functions.

Breakdown of major work order functions for 2005:

  • 316 - Pothole Repair
  • 231 - Deer/Animal Pickup
  • 193 - Sight Distance
  • 52 - Cleanup/Debris in Road
  • 79 - Mailbox Replacement
  • 89 - Other misc. requests
